Qingyun Rock is a temple and cemetery hill south of central Shantou, with terraces, stone inscriptions, forested paths, and a small lake below the main temple area. It is a quieter cultural stop than the city's waterfront sights.
The site rewards slow walking more than checklist sightseeing. Paths and steps follow the slope of the hill, so allow time and wear shoes that can handle uneven ground.
