Nan'ao's Tropic of Cancer marker is a small but popular stop, mostly because it gives travellers a physical line to stand on. The monument marks the latitude where the sun can pass directly overhead at the June solstice.
It is not worth crossing the island for on its own, but it makes a neat pause while looping between Qing'ao Bay, coastal viewpoints, and fishing villages.
