The Official Residence of Li Zongren was built in the 1940s for the Guilin-born Kuomintang military leader, who later served as vice president and acting president of the Republic of China. The building is sometimes called the Guilin Presidential Palace.
It is open to visitors and has exhibitions on Li Zongren's life, making it a useful stop for modern Chinese history in central Guilin.
