Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan) is the largest park in Guilin, spread across the east bank of the Li River and dominated by seven karst peaks arranged in a pattern said to resemble the Big Dipper constellation. The park contains Camel Hill (whose rock formation really does look like a kneeling camel), a series of caves open for visits, a small zoo, and a resident troop of rhesus macaques that have been living in the park for decades.
The Guilin Stone Forest — a field of natural limestone pillars within the park — is less dramatic than the bigger formations outside the city but makes for a pleasant walk. The park is popular with local families and couples in the evenings, when it is lit up. Entry is ticketed but inexpensive.
