Xiongcun is an old town outside Guilin with narrow historic streets and small city gates marking several of its entrances. English signs point visitors toward the main lanes, which makes it easier to explore without a guide.
It is a low-key heritage stop rather than a polished show village. Come for a slow walk through the old street pattern and gate fragments, especially if you want a quieter side trip from central Guilin.
