Tongren has an airport (Tongren Fenghuang Airport) with connections to Guiyang, Chongqing, Chengdu, and a handful of other cities. High-speed rail on the Shanghai-Kunming line connects Tongren to Guiyang in under two hours. The city's transport position — at the northeastern corner of the province — makes it the natural gateway for both Mount Fanjing and the Wuling mountain area.
For Mount Fanjing, dedicated tourist buses leave from the Tongren tourist bus station each morning at 8:30, arriving at the Jiangkou base at the mountain's foot around 10:00. The return bus runs in the afternoon. If you miss the tourist bus, regular transport to Jiangkou is available from the main bus station throughout the day.
