Getting There

Zhaoxing is in the far southeast of Guizhou, and getting there requires at least a partial day of travel from any major city. The nearest high-speed rail station is Congjiang, on the Guiyang-Guangzhou line; from there, minibuses cover the 7 kilometres to the village in about 15 minutes. The Congjiang-Zhaoxing road is well-surfaced and the minibus service runs throughout the day.

From Kaili or Guiyang, the journey to Zhaoxing requires changing at Congjiang; the full journey takes about five to six hours from Guiyang. From the southeast — coming from Guangzhou or Guilin — Congjiang is an intermediate stop rather than a long diversion. The surrounding villages of Jitang (3 kilometres) and Tang'an (20 minutes by bus) are accessible on foot or by local transport from Zhaoxing.
