Lianfeng Mountain Park lies on the western edge of Beidaihe, covering a pine-clad ridge of three low summits overlooking the sea. The name means "linked peaks." A path winds up through the trees to a pavilion at the top — a modest climb of maybe 20 minutes — which rewards you with a panorama over the Bohai coast, the town below, and the offshore islands on clear days.
The mountain's pine and deciduous woods are among the best birding spots in Beidaihe. During spring migration, the wooded slopes can be alive with warblers, flycatchers, and thrushes that have arrived overnight from the south. It was one of the sites regularly worked by early ornithologists who established Beidaihe's reputation as a premier birdwatching destination. The park also has an old stone observatory and some sculptures from the Republican era.
