Cangzhou railway station sits on the main Beijing–Shanghai and Beijing–Guangzhou rail lines, with frequent high-speed services. From Beijing South, trains take about 45 minutes; from Tianjin, about 25 minutes. The station is southeast of the city centre and taxis connect to the main sights.
The Iron Lion is at Cang County, the old county seat a few kilometres south of the modern city — the most straightforward approach is by taxi from the railway station, about 20 minutes. The Grand Canal heritage corridor in Yunhe District is closer to the city centre.
