Daqing is well connected to Harbin by high-speed rail: trains depart frequently and the journey takes between 40 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on the service. The main station for high-speed services is Daqing East; some trains also stop at Daqing station. Harbin Taiping International Airport is the nearest major airport, about 140 kilometres to the east.
By bus, services from Harbin run regularly and take around two hours. The city is also accessible by slower trains on the main northeast rail corridor. Given its convenience from Harbin, Daqing makes a workable day trip for anyone specifically interested in the petroleum history, though accommodation is available and oriented toward business travellers.
