Dragon Tower, also called Long Ta, rises above Harbin's development zone as a television tower and visitor viewpoint. At 336 metres, it is less atmospheric than Central Street or Saint Sophia, but it gives the clearest sense of the city's scale and flat northern setting.
It is best treated as a weather-dependent stop. On a clear day the observation levels are worthwhile, especially if you want to orient yourself beyond the old Daoli core; in haze or heavy winter weather, Harbin's street-level sights are a better use of time.
