Harbin Taiping International Airport connects the city to Beijing, Shanghai, and many domestic destinations, as well as international routes to Tokyo, Seoul, Vladivostok, and occasionally European cities. The airport is about 30 kilometres from the city centre; taxis and shuttle buses are available.
By high-speed rail, Harbin is connected to Beijing in about five hours via the Harbin-Dalian high-speed line. Trains also connect to Shenyang, Changchun, and other northeastern cities. The main Harbin railway station is walkable from Zhongyang Dajie. There is also Harbin West station, which handles many of the high-speed services.
