Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Beyond the alpine ski runs, Yabuli maintains a cross-country skiing circuit through the forested slopes of the Zhangguangcai Range — a quieter and more meditative alternative to the lifts and crowds of the alpine area. The trail network winds through mature boreal forest, with Korean pine and larch creating a landscape that is genuinely beautiful in heavy snow. The trails are groomed in winter and well-marked.

Snowshoeing outside the marked trails is possible for those who want to move through the forest away from any infrastructure. The mountain range is not wilderness — the resort perimeter is close — but the experience of walking through silent snow-covered forest on a cold clear day is considerably different from anything you get in the resort proper. This is the activity for visitors who want Yabuli in winter but are not particularly interested in skiing.
