Nanyang is connected to Zhengzhou by high-speed rail in under two hours. The Nanyang North station (Nanyangbei) serves the high-speed line; the older Nanyang railway station handles conventional services. Nanyang Jiangying Airport has flights to approximately twenty cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu.
By road, the G4W expressway and several national highways connect the city to the rest of Henan and to Hubei to the south. The city's considerable geographic size means that once you arrive, taxis and occasional local buses are necessary for getting between attractions — the Marquis Wu Temple, the Medical Sage Temple, and the Zhang Heng Tomb are each in different parts of the city.
