Compact Disney park with distinct Asian touches

Address Lantau Island

Hong Kong Disneyland opened in 2005 on reclaimed land in the northeast of Lantau Island. It's the smallest Disney resort in the world, but has expanded significantly since opening and now has several distinct themed lands. The park targets Asian visitors — you'll find dim sum at restaurants, Cantonese signage throughout, and Mickey Mouse appearing in a silk Chinese outfit around Lunar New Year.

A single determined day is enough to cover most of it. The park is reached directly by the dedicated Disneyland Resort Line branching from Sunny Bay MTR station, about 30 minutes from Central. Two Disney hotels sit at the resort entrance for those who want to extend the experience.
