Peng Chau

Smallest ferry-accessible island — traditional fishing village, good walking, views of Lantau

Peng Chau is the quietest and least visited of the ferry-accessible outlying islands, and rewards a half-day of unhurried walking. The old village at the pier end has narrow lanes, a few temples, and small restaurants where the locals eat. Finger Hill, the island's high point, is a short climb and gives clear views across to Lantau on good days. Ferries run from Central Pier 6; the crossing takes about 35 minutes.
