Xiangshipo Forest Park is a green escape near Huaihua, with forest paths and displays of Dong minority architecture such as drum towers, village gates, stilted buildings, and wind-and-rain corridors. It is a gentle place rather than a major sight, but it gives useful context for the region's ethnic architecture without requiring a long trip into the countryside.
