The gateway to Wulingyuan is the city of Zhangjiajie, which has an airport and train station with connections to Changsha and other major cities. From Zhangjiajie city centre, buses run directly to Wulingyuan village at the northern park entrance, taking about 50 minutes. Taxis and ride-share services cover the same route for around ¥80–100.
From Changsha, high-speed trains reach Zhangjiajie in about four hours. Direct buses from Changsha to Wulingyuan also run daily, taking about five hours. The park ticket office and main entrance are at Wulingyuan village; from there internal shuttle buses serve all four scenic areas.
