Yueyang sits on the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail corridor, one of China's busiest lines. High-speed trains from Changsha take about 30 minutes; from Wuhan the journey is about the same. Yueyang has two high-speed stations — Yueyang North for trains to/from Beijing and Wuhan, and Yueyang East for trains on the Hangzhou-Kunming line. The city centre and the Yueyang Tower area are closer to Yueyang station (the older, slower station) than to either high-speed terminal.
Direct buses run from Changsha and Wuhan. The city centre is compact enough to navigate by taxi or on foot between the main sites.
