Changzhou's position on the Shanghai–Nanjing high-speed rail corridor is its greatest practical asset. High-speed trains from Shanghai take under an hour; from Nanjing around 30–40 minutes. The two main rail stations — Changzhou Station (on the older Jinghu line) and Changzhou North Station (high-speed) — are both metro-connected to the city centre. The metro system opened in 2019 and covers the main visitor districts adequately. Changzhou also has a domestic airport, Changzhou Benniu Airport, with services to major Chinese cities.
