Getting There

Zhenjiang is on the main Shanghai–Nanjing high-speed rail line. Zhenjiang Station handles both the conventional and high-speed services; the journey from Shanghai takes about an hour and from Nanjing about 20 minutes. The station is in the city centre, which is more convenient than Zhenjiang South (a new high-speed station further from the old town).

From Yangzhou across the Yangtze, a passenger ferry runs from the Xijindu area and takes about 20 minutes — a scenic and practical alternative to going around by train. Bus connections serve the surrounding region. Zhenjiang has no commercial airport; the nearest is Nanjing Lukou International.
