Sanqingshan's nearest high-speed rail station is Shangrao, about 50 kilometres to the southwest on the Shanghai–Kunming line. Trains from Nanchang to Shangrao take about 90 minutes; from Shanghai, the journey is under two hours. From Shangrao Station, buses and taxis serve the mountain entrance in about an hour.
Yushan County, directly east of the mountain, also has transport links to the park entrance and is sometimes used as a base. Accommodation is available both at the mountain base and at the summit — the summit options are basic and expensive, but staying overnight allows for uncrowded early-morning access to the sunrise viewpoints without the time pressure of a day trip.
