Tianmu Hot Springs (天沐温泉) provides an efficient counterpoint to a day of revolutionary history, with outdoor hot spring pools in a garden setting with views of the surrounding hills. The water temperature is reliably high and the facilities are clean and well organized. Chinese hot spring resorts follow a consistent format — multiple pools at different temperatures, mineral contents, and sizes — and Tianmu is a competent example of the type.
The resort is particularly busy in winter when the cold weather makes outdoor soaking more appealing. An afternoon here after a morning of trudging through earthen buildings at Yeping is not a bad use of time.
