Yichun is accessible by train from Nanchang, with the journey taking around two hours. Nanchang itself is a major hub on the high-speed rail network, so the standard approach from most parts of China is to travel to Nanchang and continue west to Yichun by conventional rail. There is a small airport serving Yichun, but domestic routes are limited and rail is the more practical option for most travellers.
Buses connect Yichun to cities across Jiangxi, including Nanchang, Jingdezhen, and Ji'an. The bus station is centrally located and departures are frequent.
