Chaoyang is served by Chaoyang Airport (IATA: CHG), which has flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and a handful of other major cities, though the service is limited and prone to cancellation. The more reliable option is the high-speed train from Shenyang: the Liaoning Chaoyang railway station (not to be confused with the older in-city station) sits on the Beijing–Shenyang high-speed line and connects to Shenyang North in around ninety minutes and to Beijing in about three and a half hours. Buses also run from Shenyang's long-distance bus terminal to Chaoyang in roughly three hours.
From the high-speed station to the city centre is about eight kilometres — taxis and ride-hailing apps cover the distance in fifteen to twenty minutes.
