Shenyang Taoxian International Airport has flights to most major Chinese cities and limited international routes to Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. The airport is about 20 kilometres south of the city centre; taxi and metro (Line 2) both serve it.
Shenyang is well-connected by high-speed rail. The journey from Beijing is around two hours on the G-class trains that run frequently throughout the day. Harbin is about two hours north, Dalian about 90 minutes south, and Changchun under an hour. The main station (Shenyang North) handles most high-speed services; Shenyang Station handles some intercity trains as well. The two stations are about five kilometres apart and connected by metro.
