Tongxin sits roughly midway between Yinchuan and Guyuan on the road south through central Ningxia. Buses from Yinchuan take about three hours; from Guyuan about one and a half hours. The town has a small bus station on the main through road. Most visitors stop here en route rather than making it a dedicated destination; if your itinerary takes you between the capital and the south of the province, a two-hour stop to see the mosque is worth it.
There is no train station at Tongxin; buses are the practical option for all connections.
