Dongying's great attraction is its natural setting at the mouth of the Yellow River — a landscape of wetlands, migratory birds, and constantly shifting delta terrain unlike anything else in eastern China. The city's industrial origin shows in its grid plan, but the reserves and river landscapes on its margins reward those who seek them out.
