Getting There

Weihai is at the end of the line in terms of Shandong peninsula rail: the high-speed rail runs from Jinan through Qingdao to Rongcheng, with Weihai on a branch. Direct high-speed services connect to Qingdao (about 90 minutes), Jinan (about three hours), and Beijing (about four hours). Weihai's high-speed station is in the southern part of the city.

Weihai International Airport handles domestic routes to Beijing, Shanghai, and other major cities, plus international connections to South Korea and Japan. Ferries run to Incheon (South Korea) in about 17 hours and to Dalian across the Bohai Strait, making Weihai a viable starting or ending point for travel to or from Korea by sea.
