Zaozhuang's main attractions are in its outer districts rather than the city center. Taierzhuang to the southeast draws most visitors with its canal heritage and battle memorial; Weishan Lake to the northwest is one of the great lotus spectacles of China. The city itself is a post-industrial town in transition, honest about what it was and what it is becoming.
