Jianmen Shudao is unusually accessible for a Sichuan scenic park because it sits on a major rail corridor. The town of Jiange, the park's gateway, is on the high-speed rail line between Chengdu and Xi'an; trains from Chengdu North Station reach Jiange South Station in about an hour and a half. This makes a day trip from Chengdu genuinely feasible, which is unusual for Sichuan's larger parks.
From Jiange South Station, tourist buses or taxis cover the remaining distance to the park entrance in about thirty minutes. The main park gate is well signposted.
Coming from Xi'an, the journey takes about two hours and arriving at Jianmen from the north — the direction from which armies historically entered Sichuan — gives the pass a geographical logic that arriving from the south (from Chengdu) does not quite match.
The Thousand-Buddha Cliff near Guangyuan is a separate attraction best reached by a different bus or taxi from Jiange. Guangyuan itself is on the same rail line and can be used as a base for visiting both sites in one day.
The park has a small entrance plaza with food stalls but limited proper accommodation. The town of Jiange has adequate guesthouses. Guangyuan, about 20 kilometres to the north, has the full range of hotel options for those wanting to spend a night in the area.
