Most travellers reach Burqin by road from Altay, Karamay, or Urumqi, often as part of a Kanas itinerary. Buses run in season, but private cars and arranged tours are common because the onward route to Kanas and Hemu involves long mountain drives and ticketed scenic-area controls.
