Ruili's food scene is one of its genuine pleasures, mixing Dai, Jingpo, Achang, and Burmese influences in ways that produce dishes unavailable anywhere else in China. The evening street food stalls that open along the main streets from around 5pm are the best starting point — Jingpo barbecue, Dai sticky rice with pork, and Burmese-influenced curries all appear on the same stretch.
