Getting There

Shilin is 88 kilometres southeast of Kunming and well connected. The fastest option is the Yunnan-Guizhou Railway: high-speed trains from Kunming South station reach Shilin station in around 40 minutes, with several departures daily. From Shilin station, the park entrance is a short taxi or shuttle bus ride. This is the recommended approach — the round trip costs very little and the frequency is high.

Buses from Kunming's East Bus Station (Dongjiao Kezhanzhan) run throughout the day and take about 90 minutes. Tour buses from Kunming hotels are convenient but commit you to a fixed schedule with other passengers. Driving is straightforward on the expressway via the G60. The entrance ticket is ¥175 for the main park (including Major and Minor Stone Forest) with Naigu as a separate supplement; hours are approximately 7:30am to 7pm, though early arrivals can often enter before the gates officially open.
