The old walled city is compact enough to cover on foot in a day. Start at the main square with the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and the Venetian palace ruins, then work your way through the backstreets to Othello Castle. The walls themselves are partly accessible on foot and give good views over the roofscape.
