Venkateswara Temple, Navabharat Hill

The Venkateswara Temple sits atop Navabharat Hill above the town, accessible by a path that climbs through scrub forest. The hilltop location gives panoramic views over Paloncha, the Godavari plain, and the forested ridges of the Eastern Ghats to the north and east. The temple is dedicated to Venkateswara (a form of Vishnu associated with the major pilgrimage centre at Tirupati) and is visited by workers and families from the surrounding industrial colonies.

The walk up takes about 20–30 minutes from the base. The views are best in the early morning or at sunset, when the light on the river and the factories below takes on a more forgiving quality.
