The Saraswati Temple at Wargal is one of the principal temples dedicated to the goddess of learning in Telangana. It stands on a small hill at the edge of the village, reached by about 100 steps or a lift. A ten-foot idol of the goddess stands in front of the temple. Daily abhishekam (ritual bathing of the deity) begins at 6:00 AM and lasts about an hour, followed by darshan from around 8:30 AM until afternoon, and again in the evening. The temple is particularly busy before examinations and on Saraswati Puja, drawing students and families from Hyderabad and across the region.
