Ganga Lake, known locally as Gekar Sinyi, is a small natural lake set in forest at the edge of Itanagar. It is a pleasant spot for a morning walk, with a path that circles the water through sal and bamboo. Pedal boats are available for hire.
The lake is considered sacred by local communities and a small temple sits on the bank. Migratory birds stop here in season, and in the early morning the lake is quiet enough to appreciate. The surrounding park area is popular with families on weekends.
