Panpur is about 40 kilometres from Barpeta Road, the nearest railway station on the Assam Rail Link line. Shared jeeps and buses connect Barpeta Road to the villages near the park entrance. The drive takes around an hour on rough roads.
The nearest city with an airport is Guwahati, about 180 kilometres east. Most visitors hire a car from Guwahati for the 3–4 hour drive, or take the train to Barpeta Road and arrange onward transport from there. The main park entrance at Bansbari is slightly north of Panpur and is the primary gateway for safaris.
