Pusa Road and the surrounding streets of Karol Bagh form one of Delhi's most concentrated restaurant districts, popular with the middle-class neighbourhood residents who fill the area's chaat stalls, South Indian restaurants, and mid-range Punjabi eateries. The area has none of the upscale polish of South Delhi's restaurant scene but compensates with authenticity and value.
Roshan Di Kulfi near Ajmal Khan Road is an institution, serving the frozen milk dessert from a recipe unchanged since it opened in 1946. Several excellent paratha shops operate from street corners. The neighbourhood is particularly vibrant in the evenings when families spill out after dinner and street vendors sell bhel puri and pani puri to children.
