Kinari Bazaar is Old Delhi's specialist market for wedding and ceremonial accessories, running parallel to Dariba Kalan near Chandni Chowk. The lane is an explosion of colour and glitter: shops sell tinsel, ribbon, gold and silver braid (kinari), artificial flowers, decorative tassels, embroidered borders, and the elaborate headgear worn at Indian weddings. The visual exuberance of the market makes it one of the most photogenic spots in Old Delhi.
The market is almost exclusively wholesale-oriented, supplying wedding dressmakers across north India, but retail buyers are welcome. Prices are very low for the quality of decoration on offer.
