South Extension (NDSE) is a major upmarket shopping district in South Delhi spread across two sections — South Extension Part I and Part II — on either side of Sri Aurobindo Marg. The broad tree-lined streets host a mix of branded clothing stores, shoe shops, jewellery boutiques, and cafés. It is one of Delhi's most pleasant outdoor shopping areas, less manic than the central bazaars and more accessible than the newer mall-based retail zones.
The area around NDSE Part I is particularly good for footwear — a long tradition of shoe shops has made it Delhi's go-to destination for quality Indian-made shoes. The main road also has branches of most major national clothing chains alongside independent boutiques. Several reliable cafés and restaurants make it easy to break up shopping with food.
