St. Michael's Church

The whitewashed baroque church on the inland edge of Anjuna village is one of the older Portuguese churches in Bardez taluka, founded in 1595 and rebuilt in its present form in 1810. The interior is decorated with gilt woodwork and a fine altarpiece.

The church holds its main feast on 29 September, when the village turns out for processions, food stalls and a fairground. The grounds are quiet the rest of the time and worth a stop on the way to or from the flea market.
