The Goa season runs from mid-October to early April. November and December bring clear skies, warm seas and the highest concentration of travellers; Christmas and New Year are very busy and prices roughly double. January and February are cooler and slightly quieter, with the best beach weather of the year — dry, breezy, with comfortable temperatures into the evening.
March is fine but already warming up; by April it is hot and humid and most beach shacks begin to dismantle. From June to September the south-west monsoon shuts the coast down — beaches are closed for swimming, most restaurants and clubs are shuttered and the village empties.
The Anjuna Wednesday flea market and the Arpora Saturday Night Market both run only during the dry season, roughly mid-November to late April.
