By air. Manohar International Airport at Mopa (north Goa) is about 35 km away — a 50–60 minute taxi ride. The older Dabolim airport, near Panaji, is roughly 45 km and 90 minutes. Both have prepaid taxi counters; a private cab is usually 1,500–2,000 rupees.
By train. Thivim is the nearest mainline station, about 12 km inland — auto-rickshaws and taxis are easy to find. Madgaon (Margao) in south Goa is the bigger station for long-distance trains; from there it's 45 km by taxi.
Within Goa. Hire a scooter (around 400 rupees a day) — it is by far the easiest way to get around the north coast and to reach Mapusa, Anjuna, the Saturday Arpora night market and the inland villages. Be careful about your licence: police checks on tourists riding without an International Driving Permit are common.
