Palolem dining is mostly beach shacks: Goan fish curry, freshly grilled mackerel and king prawns, thali plates, and standard global backpacker fare from Israeli falafel to wood-fired pizza. Prices are reasonable by Western standards and outrageous by Indian ones. The shacks change ownership year on year — what counts is the catch on ice at the entrance.
