By air, the nearest airport is Gaggal (Kangra Airport), about 70 km away, with a few flights daily from Delhi. By rail, the narrow-gauge Kangra Valley Railway stops at Ahju station, about 3 km from Bir — a slow but scenic ride from Pathankot. The nearest broad-gauge railhead is Pathankot, connected to Delhi by overnight train; from there it is a 4–5 hour drive or bus ride. By road, ordinary and deluxe buses run daily from Delhi (12–14 hours), Chandigarh and Dharamsala to Baijnath; Bir is a short taxi ride from Baijnath bus stand. Shared taxis from Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj (3 hours) are the easiest option if you are already in the area.
