Khajjiar is 27 km from Dalhousie and most people arrive by road from there. Taxis make the run easily, as do state transport buses between Dalhousie and Chamba (56 km beyond Khajjiar). Private taxis can also be arranged from Pathankot or Chamba.
The nearest railway station is Pathankot (or Chakki Bank, adjacent), about 80 km away, which has good connections from Delhi, Amritsar, and Chandigarh. From Pathankot, take a bus or taxi to Dalhousie and then continue to Khajjiar.
The nearest airport is Kangra (Gaggal), roughly 120 km away, with flights from Delhi. Jammu airport is about 200 km and has broader connectivity. From either airport, a taxi to Dalhousie or Chamba is the practical option.
