The Pohlani Mata temple sits on a high ridge about 4 km south of Khajjiar village, reached by a small road or a one-hour walk through the forest. The shrine is dedicated to Pohlani Mata, a local incarnation of the mother goddess, and the climb up rewards you with a long, open view across the deodar canopy to the snow line.
The temple itself is modest — a small stone and wood building with a paved courtyard — but the position is exceptional. Few foreign visitors make it up here, so even on a crowded weekend the path is quiet.
