One of India's least-visited national parks, covering 2,190 sq km of high-altitude terrain between 1,700 m and 4,800 m. The park shelters snow leopard, Himalayan brown bear, musk deer, serow, and the rare Kashmir stag (hangul). Permits are required and must be obtained from the Forest Department in Kishtwar town. Serious trekkers can arrange multi-day routes through the park — you will need to be self-sufficient with tent and provisions.
